One apartment, told the way a visitor would walk it. The living room wall anchors everything else.

Setup

A full-floor apartment in Manhattan by TBD Architecture + Design. The commission covered the whole interior sequence: living room, kitchen, stair, baths, terrace, bedroom.

02 · Arrival, the apartment in one frame, kitchen to stair

Tension

An interior set fails in a particular way: ten beautiful rooms that could belong to ten different homes. Held apart, the frames sell nothing. The set has to read as one apartment on one afternoon, with the same light moving through every room.

Approach

The living room leads. The art wall and the city behind it give the apartment its anchor, and every other frame agrees with it: the same warmth in the kitchen marble, the same hour on the stair, the same evening reaching the terrace. The sequence is ordered the way a visitor would walk it.
