Central Park West.

A full remodel of an apartment above Central Park, designed by Jessica Helgerson Interior Design with TBD Architecture + Design. The plan was reworked into a simpler, warmer sequence of rooms, and one detail of the original home set the language for the rest: the chrysanthemum on its doorknobs, carried into the ceiling roses, rugs, lighting and mosaic floors.

Oaki followed that thread through a single late afternoon. The images move from the piano room and dining table into the walnut library and its bar, where a brass inlay of falling ginkgo leaves catches the last light, and end in the kitchen behind bojagi textiles by Wonju Seo. Wide frames set each room against the park, and close ones stay with what was made by hand.
