A single-family residence in Coconut Grove by KODA, designed around the century-old oaks that define its site. The house bends its roofline and its rooms around the trees; nothing on the site was asked to move.
The trees lead every frame. The facade reads through the canopy, the interiors look back out to it, and the closing vertical frame puts house and oak in one column. The light is one Miami afternoon throughout, so five images read as one visit.
At the 2026 AIA Florida Design Awards, Oak House received a Citation Award for Unbuilt Work. The award listing runs on a single image: the courtyard render oaki produced. Source: the 2026 AIA Florida Design Award recipients page.
